books that I love...

I recently borrowed 2 fiction books from the library and I am so glad and proud of my choice of books =P

I borrowed The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield and The Book Club by Kate Mccabe.

The Thirteenth Tale
is really a book which is very ancient poetic English type and kinda not my regular choice but I grew to love it because of the content and the breath of fresh air when reading it. It's interesting as it contains the passion for books such as Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre (!!!), secrets of a family, ghost stories, mysteries and sadistic kids all in one book!!

This story is about how Margaret Lea was asked to write the biography of a Ms.Vida Winter who's a famous writer of books (one of them was called the Thirteen Tales but was renamed Tales of Change and Desperation because the book only contains 12 tales). Ms.Vida is sick and dying and it was later revealed that she was related to the Angelfield House and how there was a twins with a mentally sick mother, a sadistic uncle, a gardener, a missus, a governess who ran away, a doctor and a ghost in the house.

The Book Club is the type of fiction book that I will pick up to read to pass time. This story is also intriguing and exciting to read. For an avid book reader like me reading about a book club is so fun because it gives me the insight of starting one LOL. What made me love this book is because the 1st book they chose to read and share their views on is a book I've read before- Rebecca!! Bit the book I've read was Rebecca's Tale and the author of that book is Sally Beauman. According to Wikipedia, the book that I've read is kinda like a prequel to the real 1938 Rebecca. The next book was "The boy in the Stripped Pyjamas" and I've read this book too!! =)

This book is about how Marion who was bored hence wanted to start a book club after reading a book yet has no one to share with, Christy who joined the club to accompany his wife who loves reading and was recovering from her minor stroke, Liz who's grieving for the lost of her husband in a freak accident, Matt who's a divorcee and was interested in Marion, Nick who lost his fame as a poet and wants to write a novel to relaunch his carrier and Alan who was Marion's ex who joined the book club to get her back. All these characters were twisted and involved in each others live in a way. You can find romance, betrayal, deceit, and mystery all in this book.

Wow...if I can't pass out as a MD then I guess I'll get a job like Sandra Bullock in Proposal where I get to read all the unpublished manuscripts and decide who to publish and things like that. Yup, that'll be my dream job besides being involved in music, ballet and animals =)

text message

At 12am on 14th Jan 2010, I started sending text messages to all my friends in my phone list which includes the 3 lecturers from HELP- Ms.Ng, Mr.Khoo and Mr.R0nnie.
All 3 of them replied.

Ms.Ng's replies was the weirdest. She just sent Gong Hi Fat Choi". I mean, what? LOL

Mr.Khoo was surprised that I sent him the message and remembered him and we kinda chat for a while.

Mr.Ronnie who did not save my number (I think) just replied "Thanks, I think you are Ms.Ng from Kepong?" Hahah, and we also chat for a while and he said how can he forget us who treated him pizza LOL!! I recalled him wearing his Liverpool jersey and we just could not stop laughing hahaha. Good all days =)

Well, CNY is just another day to me and I did not go ang pau hunting so I assume this year's ang pau will be less than RM100 (exclude my parent's portion hehe).

Going to start uni next week and I am so dead =(

Going up North

Dang!! This time we have to go back up North for CNY =(

I really enjoy the company of my cousins BUT I don't like the process of traveling there. 7 hours stucked in a car really ruins everything. Gah!!

Have been busy watching movies and reading fiction books I borrowed from my uni's library. There's a whole good nice collection of fiction books. I like!!

Random updates for the sake of this dead blog. Honestly, no mood...
