Oedipus the King- D day

Well, I won't type much so I'm going to put pictures up instead. These pictures are from Esther's, Afiq's and Joanne's camera. Thanks a bunch =)

After much rehearsals, it was time to start. Before that we wore our cloak and walked around the library then we had dinner (a piece of bread and DIY coffee/ tea/ milk/ milo) so I had 3 spoons of coffee + 3 spoons of sugar + 1.5 spoons of milk + 1 huge mountain of milo and half cup of hot water. This concentrated saturated drink allowed me to stay awake until 3am!!


Before the real thing, we took a quite a lot of pictures at the back stage.

(King Laius raped his student Chrysipus hence got cursed that he'll be killed by his son and the son- Oedipus will marry his wife)

We chorus walked into the pitch dark auditorium with just candle lights (cool effect!!)

It was a real fun day. Thursday went to Pavilion with Jon, WH and Noel.
Later going out with the 2 guys to watch band comp =)

Before Drama

After the rehearsals, we (chorus) wore our robe/ cloak and walked to the library. Then our choragos (head of chorus) approached people and asked them "Do you know the way to Azkaban" in a scary voice. HAHAHAHA!!!

Later we walked around the library and we planted someone aka Ash and we surrounded him and grabbed him. Next, we dragged him from the chair and to the door. People was starring and typical words were heard "what the hell?". LOL!!!

All this for the sake of OUR FUN and of course for PUBLICITY!!!!

I'm loving every second of my selectives!!!!

PS: Sadly, I am not in the drama booklet because I was late for the photography session. Even my name is not in it ='(

Me singing?!

Yup, it was a Sunday and there I was at Uni singing and recording it with Esther, Nirmal, Joyce, Lois and Teck Han.

This songs are for the dance at some scenes and boy were we crazy!!

We recorded 27 times for 3 songs and this numbers exclude practices and we practiced A LOT!!!

I just can't believe myself singing out loud.

Yes, I was a band member but I play instrument and not sing.

Yesterday was purely singing!!

It was crazy but so much fun!!!

3 songs, different lyrics but almost the same melody.

I really am getting out of my comfort zone.

If you realised, I do not like to perform in public especially when it comes to dancing or singing.

Ya, I play my trumpet solo quite a couple of times but I am more confident in that then to sing or dance.

Anyway, I still can't believe I sang!!! And recorded it!!! And people are dancing to it!!!

Kudos to Esther, Nirmal, Teck Han, Lois and Joyce!!!

We rock man!!!

Yesterday was fun!! The drama will be on 16th Dec at 7pm at Audi 1. Everyone is invited and it's free but there is limited space so if you want to watch (me dance for free =P), do tell me so I'll book ticket for you.

It was so much fun organizing everyone, teaching them the dance moves and counting out loud. It seriously reminded me of old band days when I did all these together with the DM. Argh, I miss band life again!! Back to the production. It's gonna be great (I hope) and we'll do our best!!!

What I don't like is the attendance!!!

On Wednesday, Vanessa and I decided to give our ballet teacher a big birthday surprise. Her birthday was yesterday so instead of surprising her yesterday, we did it a day earlier.

So Van baked the cake and with the help of everyone we managed to sneak the cake into the changing room. BUT our dear Frog just didn't know how to react when teacher asked why is she early because Froggie is never early!! LOL

In order to sneak the cake into the ballet class, we cooked up a plan with a student's mother. She'll make teacher sit with her back facing the ballet class so we'll bring the cake in, light up the candle and make a scene to attract teacher's attention.

*FUNNIEST*
After lighting the candle, Cass switched off the lights and Van counted 1,2,3...then....
All 3 (Frog, Cass and Van) SHOUTED!!!!! [Van's idea to shout]
Cass- AAAAhhhhh...cockroach ah!!!! Turned around, walked out of the ballet class and came in (with another expression and tone) What happened? What happened??!! (It's like she has split personality). Then she went and switch on and off the lights and said "Why no light one!! Why why??!!" (Actually the lights were starting to light up and I was worried that she'll really spoil the lights haha)
Frog- .....*looked around then*AAAhhhh....Eeeehhhh...* Jump up and down loudly* (imagining she's jumping on the cockroach)
Van- AAahhhhh.....*looked at cass and froggie* hahahahahahaa.......

Me and Xuan Hui were trying to keep the candle flame on and trying not to laugh..

After a while, teacher was still not coming in so thank god the student's mother asked to check us out. So teacher walked in fumingly and asked "What's wrong ah?!!" Then she was surprised to see us holding a cake and singing birthday song. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

We cut cake, laughed at each other, ate a piece each, dance and laughed and I had headache because I laughed too much I guess LOL. Should have recorded everyone's reaction. Classic!!

Wonder why cockroach?? Because my ballet school is full with it. I have 7am class and that's when my teacher and I can see all of them on the floor either dying or walking around. Eeeuuww!!!

updates

Just finished class and now I have an overall idea on what's going on so getting excited again. Hopefully it'll last till the production day!!!

Just now we had fun in class!!! We came up with characters that are of fault that cause the tragedy and we had a court scenario where we accuse and let the "character" defend him/herself. It was funny and we really had good time!!!

So far classes have been finishing early but today it was way late!! But it was fun =)
