House Rules Rocks!!!!

I am so attached to this book.
The last time I became so emotional because of a book was when Professor Dumbledore died. I was so depressed that I actually was moodless for a few days. Yes, I was that into the book at that time (I remember me discussing with Lai Thin about how sad I was before sitting for some SPM paper that afternoon).

Jodi Picoult really did a great job writing this book. I would say that this is so far one of the best novel she ever wrote. Really superb!! While reading it, I was like thinking like Jacob, with Asperger's Syndrome. I started staring and refused to engage in any conversation LOL!!

Ok, got to go but I just want to thank Jodi for giving me an idea when dealing with some jerks or the annoying people. They have Asperger's and hence they make me irritated. I need to be kind and patient with them LOL

play doctor and nurse

My sister fell sick on Saturday. Headache after coming back from a surprise party for one of her group of friends which they name themselves Fate. (What??!! I know. Who name their own group of friends Fate?! Well, my sister's group did.)

Anyway, she left at 8ish in the morning and came home at 11ish and she went to bed straight. Woke up at 5ish with bad headache and fever. She felt better on Sunday and we brought her to Jusco because my mom wanted to watch the oh-so-great-Harry Potter (or my mom dragged her out because she was bored and wanted to watch that movie). Anyway, I made mom fetched us home when she looked bad (no HP for mom LOL).

I was made to stay at home to look after my sister and instead of studying, I used the computer to fill up my time (still not feeling guilty and hence me blogging now). Read manga and more watching and listening to Glee via Youtube. Oh ya, we are now using a new modem and the speed is so much faster when watching youtube. Last time, to buffer a 3 minutes clip will take us more than 20 minutes but now, it buffers and load at the same time and it is just so great!!!

Anyway, my sister was better by the evening but my mom insisted on taking her to the doctor and she came back telling me my sister's temperature was 38.4 degree Celsius. Well, at least it's not Denggi the =P

Today, I am still at home to look after my sister and hey I did OK. I walked to the market to buy porridge and food for her. (I don't see you clapping for my effort, hmph!) And then I watched a very nice and touching movie - My Name Is Khan.

This movie is about Rizvan, a Muslim with Asperger's Syndrome who after having his 13 years old step son killed due to racial fight after the 9/11 incident where people started to hate Muslim, traveled to meet the President of America to tell him "My name is Khan and I am not a terrorist".

I kept tearing (and no tissue was around =.=) because it was really touching. This is really a very very good movie. I'll rank it as high as Forrest Gump. Besides, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol (in my humble opinion, is the best on screen couple) were my long lost favourite movie stars. It has been a long time since I watched a Hindi movie (not since my kakak left) and I'm loving every minute of it.

I was just reading through Wikipedia on this movie and under controversies at the airport securities, Shah Rukh Khan actually went through what the character in the movie went through because of his Khan (apparently a lot of Muslim has Khan) and even though he was an international superstar, he still went through such unfair procedure. I love this line in wiki "American actor, Christopher B. Duncan who portrays President Obama in My Name Is Khan, also commented on the incident stating: "I was very disappointed with what SRK experienced at the airport. We’re living in times where the levels of fear can sometimes spill over into paranoia. Here’s a man who is an international superstar, being detained for an excessive amount of time at an airport in the United States. It had to be very upsetting for him. Imagine Oprah (Winfrey) being detained at an airport in India for a long time, during a kind of interrogation."

Books I Laugh With

I have been going back to my university's library and rejoined the library furniture club since Tuesday. On Thursday, I was feeling a little sleepy so I went to the fiction books section and found these books
1. 10 Reasons Not to Fall in Love by Linda Green
book cover of 10 Reasons Not to Fall in Love by Linda Green
2. Can You Keep a Secret by Sophie Kinsella

4. Dead Run by PJ Tracy
Dead Run By P. J. Tracy - NEW

For 10 Reasons Not to Fall in Love by Linda Green, I kinda just read through on Thursday afternoon and finished it within 2.5 hours. Got the gist of it and continued with my revision. It was about this mother with one child, divorced and fell in love with a balloon man.

On Friday, I borrowed the rest of the 3 books with Jon's help and started reading Can You Keep a Secret by Sophie Kinsella. I could not stop myself from laughing out loud even though it was 1am in the morning. It was just so funny and I love every bit of the book. Really enjoyed myself reading it. After this blog, I'm going to start with Shopaholic and Baby by Sophie Kinsella and hopefully it will be as fun as well =)

So far, life has been good. A lot of friends saw me and could not stop themselves from adding "you look buff-ier or you put on some weight" (Fine, I know) and I managed to meet a few batch mates (miss you guys somehow) and revision is slow but at least there's something.

Photos from China will be uploaded when I'm free (be patient) and for you who just finished exam. Hooray!!!! =)

China

Someone wrote in FB that I went to Antartica and someone did believe it LOL

Anyway, China trip was nice especially the weather, very Genting like. I could walk around with just my T shirt and a pants.

I enjoyed the visiting part especially to Yip Mun Hall, Wong Fei Hong memorial museum and Guang Zhou where the Asian Games was going to be held (currently going on). The city was decorated with so many colourful flowers and the hotels we stayed at were nice and cozy especially the Macau hotel. Lots to eat with so much chicken, duck, pork, fish, crabs and prawns etc everyday, felt so sick of it by the 3rd day onwards.

I did not spent even a cent because this trip was not that straight forward as I was brought along to look after my 2 aunts who are above 65 years old. I dread it when the tour guide bring us to some shop or some street for shopping. Walking behind this 2 aunts really tested my patience but luckily weather was nice and it did cheer me up a bit.

All in all, I enjoyed the trip.

Yesterday went back to uni and it felt different because my fellow batch mates were no where to be seen but there were quite a few dramas involving a few couples. Interesting stuff!! LOL

I had lots to tell but I've expressed most of them at another place so for the moment, I shall resume to my no-life-student life =)

I'm going to be MIA for about 9 days and my desktop is spoiled so I doubt I'll be here anytime soon.

Take care =)
