Another 2 more days

Warning...Rant time!

I seriously believe I'll feel very very homesick when I get back to Abd in 2 days time. I am dreading Friday. Perhaps having a friend with me will make things better as compared to last Dec when I went back alone, sobbing away at the Amsterdam airport, waiting for my 2 hours transit to pass. But does it really really make any difference?

I am a very sentimental emotional freak. I remember sitting at the back of the bus traveling back from Kuantan after our Merdeka parade with my whole school band and I was sobbing silently whilst everyone were fast asleep.
I was sobbing because of mixed emotions:
I was relieved that things went smoothly,
I was happy that we got to spent that whole week together as a band at another state,
I was glad that we were given such chance,
but
I was sad that it ended,
I was convinced that when we go back to school everything will be back to normal,
I was afraid that I didn't do enough for the band and let my teachers down...

Lots were going through my head at that time.
Well, you get my point- I am a sentimental emotional freak.

And worse, 现在的我开始像2007 的我了。 每秒钟都在看电话,等着简讯的到来。=(

Haih....

Another disappointing thing to point out. Chivalry is dead here in KL or maybe Malaysia. Gosh, a simple holding the door for the person behind of you which only takes a few second is so difficult to get. When I see what's happening around me now, I feel so sad that some M'sians are so uncivilized.

*********

Yesterday went and watched Batman, The Dark Knight Rises.

It was alright in my opinion but somehow at certain parts, I felt that it was a little too slow in terms of pace and a little too long as a movie. The 2 people sitting beside me keep checking their phone and it was so annoying. Yup, lots of flying cars and cool bike but I feel Tom Hardy really deserves an award for his dedication!

I knew Tom Hardy from the movie Brosnan and boy was he great in that movie.

Now looking at pictures of him as Bane

Wow...

Alright, I need distractions...lots of it!!!

Post written paper exam...

It's been 3 days since my last written paper exam. What have I been doing since?

- Cleaned house
- Cleared room
- 'Welcomed' a new housemate
- Watched more Youtube and manga
- Lost interest in the shows that I found entertaining when I was studying for my written paper
- Lost sleep because the duvet on my bed is now in the living room for the new housemate and I am too cold
- Start to get the mood to revise for my OSCE aka I am worried that I'll screw up

Right. I actually have no mood to blog but I am just too cold, tired and sleepy. I slept at 2am this morning and by 4.30am I was wide awake even though I am tired.

Looking forward to OSCE? Well, looking forward to the END of OSCE.

Looking forward to go home? Well, looking forward to be in a warm place but to be honest, it doesn't necessary need to be home. Home is too hot and it's too hazy!

Looking forward to food at home? Well, honestly no mood to think about food.

Just finished watching the movie XXY

It's a 2007 Argentine movie about a 15year old girl (Alex) who is a hermaphroditic, the way her family cope with her condition and the ultimate decision that she must eventually make as she finds her gender identity.

To be honest, it was a slow movie for me to watch since I'm so tired and mentally drained but somehow I managed to sit through the whole 1 hour 25minutes.

XXY is also known as Klinefelter Syndrome but it does not apply in this show as she has both female and male genitalia. It still amazes me as to how open and how censorship works in this country. It's very interesting to be at this side of the world.

Right, I have no idea what I am typing so I am going to just stop here and maybe try to take 40 winks even though the sky is bright albeit the gloomy clouds blanketing the rainy sky.

PS: Kurt's new song- Bruno Mar's Medley is SO GOOD!!!
PPS: I want to watch a musical!!!!

My Neighbour Totoro

I just finished watching this movie, My Neighbour Totoro (I'll continue studying soon =P) and it's so touching.

There's quite a few scenes in this movie which was made in 1988 that reminds me of Spirited Away =)
Well duh since it's made and produced by Studio Ghibli, written and directed by the famous Hayao Miyaki. Can't stop myself from announcing, I just love his movies!!

This reminds me of another touching sad movie- Grave of the Fireflies.
T.T

Both this movies are based around the Japan war and you just got to watch and experience it yourself.

I love Japanese movies because it always hit the right spot and just moves me to tears. And of course the music, definitely fit the scenarios all the time. I wonder how the Japanese do it...
Aaaahhhh, I miss playing the Japanese songs back at band times. Totally love playing them... Dang, now I miss my band life....

For this movie, I envy how the sisters are so close. I know my relationship with my siblings is far from this 'normal' but since I left home, I do think that I am closer to them in a way. I guess the phrase 'distance makes the heart grow fonder' can be applied here but it's so weird because usually it's used in a boy-girlfriend scenario.

Eeuuuwwww.....

Anyway, the bottomline- I just love Japanese movies =)

Out with 3 jokers

I woke up scared that I've finally lost my voice especially after teaching that class of monkeys yesterday.
"Errr.."
I heard myself...phew...

Next, went to bank and closed down that account, went to Mid Valley and changed some US dollars so I was carrying more than RM3k in my bag, walking around gungho-ly again =P

Met up with June, Zia and Joshua and we had lunch at Zenmai at Gardens and we talked for 4 hours (a lot of updates and gossips heheh)!!! My voice was seriously getting huskier and huskier so finally we dispersed and I went for
The movie was bloody (especially after every gun shot) and well, to be honest, not as much action packed as I've expected. I hope I'll be watching another version of The Transporter but somehow this movie lacks the omph! I don't know why but it just didn't feel enough, something is missing. Maybe a little too fast track for me, not enough of shooting/ punching/ bombing/ car action I don't know but when it ended, I just felt "huh, that's it??"

Rested my voice and currently preparing for the next battle- TEACHING AGAIN till 10pm!!!!
I'm sure my voice box has finally got annoyed and angry with me and will refuse to talk to/ for me so hopefully when I go "errr.." tomorrow morning, I'll hear myself =)

OK, got to go teach some monkeys how to dance =P

Love Sick

Yesterday was valentines day. My plan was to just relax but I woke up with a dry throat again and my back felt uncomfortable.

So after spending hours at FB replying wall messages and chatting at msn, I finally shut off my computer and had a nap because my head felt heavy.

Later, I woke up with a fever and lumbargo. It felt like my extrinsic and intrinsic back muscles were not having enough glucose and could not hold my body up. Feeling so weak, I decided to watch a movie- Going The Distance.
This movie initially gave the same feeling as Tropic Thunder, with a lot of F words but I kinda got used to it and tried to enjoy the movie despite feeling so weak.

Mom came home and scolded me for not taking any medicine and she keep telling me off for not taking paracetamol so after a torturous dinner, I popped a 500mg paracetamol and slept at about 10ish.

By 1ish am, I woke up feeling so fresh but mouth still felt dry so I went and drank some water and reflected on my friend's trouble sleeping before any major exams. Now I understand how it feels to not be able to sleep well.

Eventually I slept and woke up when my mom came to check on me before sending my dad out to work. She said I still have a little fever and asked me to go take another paracetamol later.

Till now, I have yet to pop my 2nd tablet and have been trying to find a solution for my firefox 4.0 beta. It keep crashing when I open my yahoo mail and some other pages. Yesterday was fine but I think what triggered it was the link to stream grammys online. Jeez...

Any ideas how to solve this issue?

Green Hornet

Well, let's see the progression of the hematoma 1st
6/2/11
7/2/11
Right.

Yesterday, I was out with Jayne the whole day. She came to my place with KP, then we went to her mom's place for a while then to 1U to book a photo shoot session then we walked and talked and after spending almost 3 hours, decided to go and watch Green Hornet at Tesco.

Reached Tesco, bought ticket then went to Desa Park City to have a drink at Coffee Bean. Finally went and watch Green Hornet.

This movie was OK, nothing fantastic or spectacular. The chemistry between Jay and Seth Rogen was non-existent and well, Jay's English sometimes was incomprehensible. So ya...nothing much to talk about.

After that, went home and had tong sui and soup then out again to meet with a old primary school friend. He was very err, awkward maybe because I'm around but according to Jayne he's always like that. Anyway, I finally reach home at 10pm just in time for CSI =)

Next, going out to 1U soon to have A48 Biology class gathering. Better go bath now.

Out for 2 days

Saturday

Went for IELTS exam in the morning and finished by 12.15pm thanks to the people in charge of opening the door to the exam hall and the IDP people. Went to KLCC Chilis and had a nice meal of nachos, triple play and a Quesadilla Explosion which we didn't really fancy. sadly my favourite crispy chicken salad is not in the menu anymore =(

Came home, bath and went for a wedding dinner where we were shifted from one table to another then another because they arranged 2 seats instead of 3 seats for my family so 3 of us ended up having meals with the cousins and sister of the bridegroom. But so happen, the cousins were my primary school schoolmate and surprisingly they remembered me but we didn't talk much because I was tired. My mother was talking to them most of the time, asking the usual stuff of what are you doing now etc. Oh and they were nice and polite and keep serving us because according to them we are the guest LOL.

By 10.30pm before the wedding dinner ended (but after we finished our portion of the dessert), we left because we bought movie tickets for

Overall the movie was OK. I was kinda tired so I was just taking in what was happening without actually giving much thought but at the 1st few minutes, there is a scene which was kinda scary and after getting the first wave of shock, I counted to 10 then grab my sister's shoulder and she got the 2nd wave of shock HAHAHAHAHA....by the time we got home, it was already 12.30am.

Sunday

Woke up and went to uni and met up with June, Matthew, Ickes, Kyan and Yen Haw. Went to Sri Petaling for breakfast at a dim sum shop and Reza joined us. These people, don't know what is punctual tsk tsk tsk. Next, Kyan brought us to a yogurt shop and we shared 2 bowls of frozen yogurt. By 12.30pm, we dispersed so I went to the library and talked to another friend for a while and went back by train.

While walking out from the train station, Alicia called and the next thing I know we were at Mid Valley. We sat at Big Apple and had tea and talked from 3ish pm to 8pm!!!! OK, most of the time she talked I listened but when her bf joined us, I teased her bf LOL

Anyway, dead tired now and reading all the emails from the year 5 seniors is tiring because I'm using my dad's netbook and the screen is so small!!!! Can't wait to get MY laptop!!! =)

Fine, that's all for now...

04.01.2011

Well, it's raining and my internet connection is lagging. Great.

Anyway, yesterday was an eventful day.

Started off with throbbing headache when I woke up.

Went for IELTS's Speaking Test and was nearly late for it because they told me the change of date but not the change of TIME!! Luckily I left home early and when they called at 11.30am, I was 10 minutes away from IDP. My exam was originally at 12.55pm on 6.1.2011 and they called a week ago to inform me that it's been changed to 4.1.2011 but they forgot to inform me that it's at 12.15pm!! Grrr....

I was so nervous and tensed and was shocked when I saw who my examiner was-- the same lady who interviewed me before I was accepted into IMU. My Sympathetic Nervous System kicked in hard and I screwed up the test. I'm sure that lady (an English lecturer in IMU) must have thought "such a disgrace to have this student in IMU" tsk tsk tsk.

Went home by train and got shouted by a frustrated blind man because no one helped him earlier. Oh, I haven't blog about it? Well, I was reading JA's Path of Glory while waiting for the train when I saw a guy pulled this blind man away from the end of the floor at KL Sentral railway station. Another step, that blind man would have fall onto the railway tracks and it's quite high from the floor. So I ran up to him and asked him where he wanted to go and he shouted at me "SERDANG!!!" twice and grumbled. Surprisingly, I felt no emotions. =.=

So I lead him away from the wrong platform and brought him to the other side. While waiting for the lift, I talked to him and found out that he didn't want people to help because he didn't want to be a burden and rely on others in case there's no one there to help him. In another word, he wants to be independent. I guess he got angry because he was pulled by someone earlier and didn't realise that he nearly fell onto the tracks. Anyway, I ran up 2 flights of stairs and nearly missed my train. Phew....Next time people, help those who are in need!!

Reached home and checked FB and found out that my Further Maths lecturer created an A48 group for us and we're all now chatting there =)

Went to Rakuzen for dinner. While looking at the menu in the room with 2 tables, the customers beside our table stood up and left after getting their change and suddenly I saw a man's hand touching my table and I looked up, he held his hand out waiting to shake mine. So I shook and look at my mom and then my mom smiled and said "Oh. Dr.Tan, the Kepong MP". The next thing I know, I muttered softly in front of him "Oh the dermatologist" and he smiled then asked where are we from, then left. Moments later only did I realise that I could have asked him if I can go for attachment with him!!! Jeez...

MP Kepong - Dr Tan Seng Giaw

Came home and watched

4 shopping malls in a day

Morning went to Berjaya Times Square with brother and mother after signing up for Spanish class at UTAR. Not me, my brother is taking the course but I would love to learn too. Too bad, time is limited. Anyway, at Times Square, my mother changed her Digi plan and got herself a Blackberry!!!! My mother, who can ignore her phone for days is getting, no, GOT a Blackberry Bold 9780. *Faint*

Next, I went to Low Yat and met up with Monica and her friend. We went around because her friend was looking for laptop and cameras so I kinda picked up a few tips on laptop stuff and kinda got the idea of what to get next year =)
Walked around for 4 hours and made a laptop promoter calling Monica doctor!!! Hahahahahaha!!!

Later, I went to Pavilion for a while then to KLCC, meeting my mom for

This movie was hilarious and I really enjoyed myself even though I was dead tired. After the movie, went and had Natural New Zealand ice cream and half way through indulging my chocolate fudge, I saw a familiar face.....BLACKIE!!!!!!! Ran and caught up with him and talked for a while. If I was alone, I will definitely join him for mamak!!!! But oh well, WOW, to meet him at KLCC =)

Btw, my sister got 6As for her PMR. So much for bragging about beating me in studies =P

I always forget to include this. I wanna watch
Natalie Portman with white facial makeup, black-winged eye liner around bloodshot red eyes, and a jagged crystal tiara.

play doctor and nurse

My sister fell sick on Saturday. Headache after coming back from a surprise party for one of her group of friends which they name themselves Fate. (What??!! I know. Who name their own group of friends Fate?! Well, my sister's group did.)

Anyway, she left at 8ish in the morning and came home at 11ish and she went to bed straight. Woke up at 5ish with bad headache and fever. She felt better on Sunday and we brought her to Jusco because my mom wanted to watch the oh-so-great-Harry Potter (or my mom dragged her out because she was bored and wanted to watch that movie). Anyway, I made mom fetched us home when she looked bad (no HP for mom LOL).

I was made to stay at home to look after my sister and instead of studying, I used the computer to fill up my time (still not feeling guilty and hence me blogging now). Read manga and more watching and listening to Glee via Youtube. Oh ya, we are now using a new modem and the speed is so much faster when watching youtube. Last time, to buffer a 3 minutes clip will take us more than 20 minutes but now, it buffers and load at the same time and it is just so great!!!

Anyway, my sister was better by the evening but my mom insisted on taking her to the doctor and she came back telling me my sister's temperature was 38.4 degree Celsius. Well, at least it's not Denggi the =P

Today, I am still at home to look after my sister and hey I did OK. I walked to the market to buy porridge and food for her. (I don't see you clapping for my effort, hmph!) And then I watched a very nice and touching movie - My Name Is Khan.

This movie is about Rizvan, a Muslim with Asperger's Syndrome who after having his 13 years old step son killed due to racial fight after the 9/11 incident where people started to hate Muslim, traveled to meet the President of America to tell him "My name is Khan and I am not a terrorist".

I kept tearing (and no tissue was around =.=) because it was really touching. This is really a very very good movie. I'll rank it as high as Forrest Gump. Besides, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol (in my humble opinion, is the best on screen couple) were my long lost favourite movie stars. It has been a long time since I watched a Hindi movie (not since my kakak left) and I'm loving every minute of it.

I was just reading through Wikipedia on this movie and under controversies at the airport securities, Shah Rukh Khan actually went through what the character in the movie went through because of his Khan (apparently a lot of Muslim has Khan) and even though he was an international superstar, he still went through such unfair procedure. I love this line in wiki "American actor, Christopher B. Duncan who portrays President Obama in My Name Is Khan, also commented on the incident stating: "I was very disappointed with what SRK experienced at the airport. We’re living in times where the levels of fear can sometimes spill over into paranoia. Here’s a man who is an international superstar, being detained for an excessive amount of time at an airport in the United States. It had to be very upsetting for him. Imagine Oprah (Winfrey) being detained at an airport in India for a long time, during a kind of interrogation."

Tonari no Totoro

Tonari no Totoro or also known as My Neighbour Totoro is a 1988 Japanese anume film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli. The film follows the two young daughters of a professor and their interactions with friendly wood spirits in postwar rural Japan. This film won theAnimage Anime Grand Prix prize and the Mainichi Film Award for Best Film in 1988. [From wikipedia]
I was so bored that I found the movie here =)
