farewell Peter

Peter is the first staff from ACTS that I know and comfortable with at ACTS, the place I am doing my volunteering work now. He's a refugee from Myanmar and he's the coordinator at ACTS.

Finally, his application to go to a country where they accept refugees was approved and he's going to Tennessee on 2nd Nov. Malaysia DO NOT recognise refugees here and hence they are considered as illegal immigrants. The police and Rela staffs treat them badly and even abuses them! Want to hear true stories, just ask me.

He actually organised a dinner at Subang 2 weeks ago but I was busy with my China relatives so could not attend hence he organised another lunch at ACTS where it was more convenient for all the doctors and volunteers. He even made me promise that I'll appear when he called to invite me again LOL.

So I attended the lunch and I was all alone as the other volunteers are relatives of the founder of ACTS while other non-volunteers were his church friends. I didn't know anyone besides Peter and the ACTS staff which I am not very close to and seriously considered leaving as fast as I can. Thank goodness I kept myself busy by watching Astro's AXN while waiting for the other guests to arrive =P

After waiting for an hour and Peter introducing me to all the people, they gathered and said grace. Before that, Rosemary (the founder) gave a short speech on how much Peter had helped them (Peter teared and sobbed) and how thankful they are and how much we'll miss him then she asked him if he wants to say anything and

Peter- Ya, I want to thank you...(paused)...(eyes tearing)....
Rosemary- Peter, it's ok. We know you have mixed feelings. We know that you are happy to go but very sad to leave us.
Peter- Ya, my feelings (point to his heart) are mixed and so I want to....paused (teared)...I want to really thank you all...(paused)...thank y...(cried really sadly with sounds like hngh hngh....)

It was a really sad scene and most of the guests cried too. I teared a bit and was touched as how Peter really loves everyone here with all his heart and is really really sad to leave us. This scene is something I used to watch it in TV, not something I expect to experience it live. It was so touching.

Lunch was delicious. With satay, mihun, yam cake, mamak fried rice, ayamas chicken, pork, tomyam salad made by one of the staff. The food that they ordered are all from Peter's favourite restaurant =)

During lunch and after lunch, I was surprised that I could actually hold a conversation with complete strangers. First was with the head doctor of ACTS, then with another doctor who was 70 years old! and with another ACTS staff who is from Sabah. I actually talked to each stranger turn friend for one solid hour each. Amazing right?! I was shocked too!!

Mom picked me up after spending 4.5 hours there then we went to Daorae and was so satisfied with their service again. They never fail to serve you right and I love their ever-flowing side dishes =)

annoying

It's so annoying that some people just take you for granted.

You have problem you want to share, you want to discuss bout it, go ahead. But when you use my time and my $ returning your smses and never ever once say thank you, that's too much.

This is for Wan Hoe's friend who is starting to get on my nerves.

He thinks I'm 24/7 ready to answer his questions and he expects me to know everything. Not able to see and touch is hard to confirm what he's having or experiencing but he gives me the feeling that I should know what to do about it. Yes I know and acknowledge that he's scared and worried (my behavioral skills is fantastic ok but screwed up in OSCE...wth) and I don't mind a bit him asking me for advice or opinions but not when he takes me for granted and steps overboard.

************************************************************************

On a lighter note, I am officially a volunteer for Acts. I'll be helping out soon =)

I am also invited to be the emcee for the 2nd time for my band's music festival in August. Apparently band sucks and my current chairperson told me (quote her)
'you'll cry if you come back and see the band.' Because they have not improved and the band is so sissy (they'll cry if you scold them). Gah, and my band tutor apparently also changed a lot. He sort of became stricter, no more jokes and even leaves the band 1 hour before practice. Has the band became so bad that my band tutor lost interest with our band? I'll find out next week.

Currently, I have been watching Bleach again and boy I am so in love with Zaraki Kenpachi (Captain of the 11th Division)

Toshiro Hitsugaya (Captain of the 10th Division)

One is utmost crazy and one is utmost cool and steady.

I love Japanese anime or drama series because they are good in extracting all the emotions that you can feel. I admit that I'll shed a tear or two when I watch any Japanese drama series because they are so real and so motivating. Motivating, something I need currently and maybe even more after my result is out.

The other character I like is also Jushiro Ukitake, Captain of the 13th Division.
ukitake_shikai

Of course, who would miss the cool Byakuya Kuchiki, Captain of the 6th Division. Love his bankai, named Senbonzakura Kageyoshi ( literally "Vibrant Display of a Thousand Cherry Blossoms").

If only these people were real....lol

someone made my day ^^

When I walked out from house, I was a little angry because dad did not send me to the train station to catch the train. I was a little annoyed because I was tired especially after my ballet class. But after walking and enjoying the morning breeze, I felt better and did not regret walking to the station. Few more meters before the station, it started to pour and the rain drops on my face made me feel fresh and light hearted. I miss walking under the rain.

When I walked to the ticket counter to buy my ticket, a tall guy and big build was walking towards me but he was covering his face with newspaper (sort of like indulging in the news). I actually did not recognise or even bother to want to look at him but somehow I was curious about him. Suddenly....ALLEN!!!! Hahahahahaha!!!!!!

Allen was one of the refugees who was working in ACTS (the place I completed my COP) and I was drawn to him because of the tattoos on his arm and body. He was (don't laugh) sexy and hot. He was tall and cute and macho all at the same time and he was mysterious when we first arrived at ACTS because he did not talk or mix with us like the others. I was actually counting my days till I meet him at the train station ever since he told me he stayed at Kepong.

Talked to him and found out that he was staying just few shops away from my ballet school!!!! Hahahahah!!!! He even told me that they were talking about me few days back because I haven't been going there for a while. I was actually scared when he say they were talking about me because I scared I did something wrong when I was helping out there, but well, they actually missed me. And I did not know he was already in his 40s, he looked like early 30s!!!! And he has 2 kids already!! One 12 years old, the other one 24!!! OMG!!

Later in lecture hall when I was telling Jing about the whole incident, I have no idea why I was so high, so happy, so funny...LOL...Allen Allen Allen...LOL. I guess maybe he is the guy I consider as good looking (its hard to come by, me considering guys good looking)? I don't know...LOL
AND Karam called me!!!!! Hahahaha....

Anyway, the stupid KTM was late again, for 1 hour and I am so dead because I haven't finish my PBL!!! ARGH but somehow I was not really mad, just annoyed like this morning. We are having CPR class this Saturday, anyone wanna be my dummy? Tomorrow (Friday)going to Chilis....miss the molten choc so much.

Ya, btw...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JONATHAN CHEW RUZHE!!!!!!!

last day at ACTS

The pass weeks, going to ACTS alone gave me ample time for me to know more about Dr.Kama. one of the doctors working there. Today, he brought pictures from his elective posting when he was still a student. They went to Sarawak and there was so many nice scenery and also so many censored one. LOL

Besides the pictures, he even told me about his experience during his housemanship, his clinical years, telling me all the famous doctor names who were his classmates (now they are in private or general hospitals and most of them are having the datukship) and a lot of inside jokes not forgetting political and history stuff. Of course not forgetting all the medical stuff. I asked him why did he not pursue the pathway his friends are now in and all he told me was--I don't think I can bear that much of responsibilities.

Gosh, besides Dr.Kama, the staffs there--Peter, Ah Dee, San San, John, Salai, Su San, Allen, Max...and of course Dr.Caroline. Sadly I did not spend that much time with Dr.Caroline. Peter, is the best looking guys among all of them, dark I would say (Yik Jing...ahem...hehe), Ah Dee the interpreter who is so scared of blood, who always run out from the room or stand at one corner smiling at me when he knows Dr.Kama is going to take blood or do some stitches or anything that got to do with blood. I even met his 2 sons!! His 12 years old son so cute!! So girly!! LOL
San San, who is the nurse that I thought was not that friendly was actually nice because when I told her today is my last day, she told me stuffs like she's going to US by next month!!! (sad!!!), John who has been teaching me some Burmese language, Salai who is well err, donno how to describe him, Su San who is so motherly that always give me a big smile when I reach the clinic in the morning and Allen who is WOW...love his tattoos....

Anyway, I'm gonna miss ACTS so much but before I start missing, I got to start on my report!!! Classes are resuming next week so I might not be able to update that frequently but people that are flying and starting a new chapter, please take care and have fun ya!!!!

abortion and Kids!!!

What is abortion? According to wikipedia, An abortion is the removal or expulsion of an embryo or fetus from the uterus resulting in or caused by its death. It is illegal in Malaysia to have abortion. It is also wrong according to religion to have abortion but if it is for medical purpose, it is still acceptable.

The other day when I was in the counseling room, this couple came in and complained that they want to abort the baby. The husband is in this mid twenties while his wife is 19 years old. Reason for abortion--the wife is unwell, always vomit and have headache. DUH!!! When you are pregnant, you will feel nausea, feel like vomiting, back pain etc. See how uneducated are they!! Its so sad to see those that have the same mindset and were not there to complain and aborted the innocent child just so.
"Ignorance is bliss" cannot be applied here!!!!

Today, I had a chance to see a woman's vagina and it was a bloody one!!! This lady is 1 month pregnant and had a fall few days ago and thus had bleeding. She came in yesterday and complained the same thing but today the bleeding was worst. So the doctor put some lubricator on the vagina dilator and well, dilated the vagina and WOW, now I can imagine how mine looked like when I am having my period. LOL

Double wing Vagina dilator

It was a SIGHT!!!! LOL

I like being at the clinic and feel like I am a part of this small family. Surprisingly, I feel so comfortable till I think I won't mind having them at my house for visiting. BUT when my ballet teacher reminded me that they are still STRANGERS, I noticed how naive I am and recalled what my standard 3 teacher told my dad---"Jene is very naive and she easily trusts people, take care of her." Yup these were the words from my teacher back then hence I try to not trust people that easily but still I guess it is in me, and I can't change that. What I can change is, the way I choose my friends and how I judge people ^^

BTW, took over my ballet teacher's class today and I just remembered--- I REALLY HATE KIDS!!!!!!! Grrr.....

Herpes allert!!!

Yes, I went to the clinic again and saw 3 more penis...YUP!!! The 1st guy was alright with it but the other 2 was embarrassed and tried to hide but the doctor keep telling him that I am a doctor (HAHAHAHAHAHA!!) and I am used to it (SO NOT TRUE!!!). Later he told me all these stuff are rare in local hospital and you need to see it to know it. Most of the time the doctor will tell stuff and used a lot of medical jargon, leaving me nodding away without catching the new word.

Sadly, most of the guys there are sexually active and hence herpes is common among them. Another chronic disease they have are targeted at their liver. Liver is the largest and important gland in our body. It plays a major role in the metabolism, detoxify our body, store glycogen, synthesis proteins and enzymes and breakdown RBC (red blodd cells) and many many more. Just a slight damage to the liver, the whole function of the body is disrupted and many diseases start to occur. People, don't drink too much alcohol please!!!

Anyway, there was this guy who had pus in his shaft and blisters at his anal canal. He was in so much pain and herpes is not curable because it always comes back (recurrence). If he does not practice safe sex, herpes will be spread and eventually most of the sexually active people will get it and a lot of newborns will innocently get it too. SAD!!!

** Gals, get the HPV jab. It cost about RM1200 for 3 jabs the protection is higher for those who gets the jab before being sexually active. Think of the money you need to spend for chemotherapy and compare it with this mere RM1200. Cervical cancer is now the 2nd highest killing cancer!!

While waiting for Space shot, we noticed Izyan's scarf was very VERY woolly and left a lot of fiber on Aminda's and MJ's black jacket. Shown here is MJ's sleeves, looks like she hasn't been washing her jacket for thousand of years, full with cobwebs.

Cool?? LOL

Genting was fun for me and honestly (don't kill me, actually I was planning not to go) I enjoyed myself so much because of the company and I had no expectations. I actually packed my bag few hours before leaving house for the trip, and thank gf MJ did not tell me the plan. I actually asked her about the things we will do, to be exact the schedule of the trip and she well, was sarcastic and did not tell me anything. I guess if we did not do this spontaneously, it won't be that fun.

To
MJ, thanks for organising the trip. Don't la get sooo angry coz of spoilers ^^
Aminda, thanks for releasing the craziness and funniness aura and cure me from depression.lol
Jon, thanks for letting me know you better. If we were not in this trip, I won't know that you are actually that fun and funny ^^
Izyan, thanks for being as crazy as minda and had so much fun time with ya....
Paul, see you when your sem starts. Cacau you then. lol
Victor, for bringing Spongebob and make me bring it to 1Utama hugging it around....lol
Alicia, for being such a good funny bully victim...hahahaha
Jo Yee, for being such a good polite gal....lol

Love Genting so much, 3 days 2 nights is really short!! Next trip please repeat the same thing!! ( people in 1 room!!) For more detail, visit Jon's MJ's or vic's blog...hehee

Now let me tell you more about my COP aka Community Oriented Project.I went to this NGO called ACTS where they provide medical and mental health services to the refugees. Most of the staffs there are refugees. My job was suppose to go there to help out but end up observing because I do not have the knowledge to help out in anything.

Anyway, back to the penis thing. Yes, for the first time, I am looking at a real penis and NO, it isn't a small kid's. The patient was about 25 years old and ahem, ya. Its so sad because there was scar tissue or fibrous tissue over his external ureter and hence when he goes to the toilet for his business, its sooo painful...pity him. The hole for the pee to come out was so tiny!!! Guys when you go for circumcision, make sure the person doing it is qualified and has experience!!!

Besides that, saw patients with jaundice, TB, and many more. Back to the penis thing, I wanted to put the pictures up (yes he allowed us to take picture of his little brother) but better not la, after you guys can't sleep...LOL

I just came back from Alvint's farewell party. It was a poolside party. It was fun and I have no idea why I was so talkative and I really enjoyed myself especially when Al was thrown into the pool. So sad, everybody is leaving...Karam, Jon, Al, Jac, Vic, Joe, Golok, Jin.....in the end....me....
