Homesick soon?

It's another week before I head back to UK.

Last night, we went to a Taiwanese restaurant (Fung Lye) for nice Chinese food =)
It's a restaurant where my mom's boss loves to go and he always tip the waiters and management well hence I felt that we were treated with extra care last night =P

The table setting were beautiful and the food were delicious. After the meal, they gave us lemon juice and special mixed fruits, all on the restaurant LOL

On our way back, we were all laughing and joking and suddenly mom said

'Jene, I think I'll miss you when you leave. Without you around, it's quiet. Usually pa and bro will talk or pa and ma will talk or min will tell stories about her school...seldom we can laugh like this together...'

Oh gosh......

I believe I'll be very very homesick especially since I'm really enjoying this break.

When I first arrived at UK, mom was with me and when she left I was busy with the bridging course and seniors kept us busy with weekly or almost daily meet ups and meals together.

Last Dec when I went back to UK alone, I was really really depressed. Never felt so sad and homesick ever (well duh, this is my 1st time away from home anyway) and I believe I was crying feeling homesick for almost a week. My housemate couldn't do much because she went to work and came home late. I partially blame my mom as well because she cried when I was sent off at the airport and her crying face that made me cried as well...gosh, tearing up now as well...die.....

This time, I'm going back with my friend but I doubt she'll able to do much because I'm pretty sure she'll feel the same as me. Later both of us crying in the plane LOL!! Well, on the brighter note, I am having new housemates and one of them is an old friend whom I hope he'll be able to do something to distract me. Boy, I can imagine him doing all kind of things to piss me off. He already burnt my pot which I am not angry, just annoyed that nothing more is done to get rid of the burnt stuff at the base of the pot. Anything worse than that? Yup, you betcha!

I have to say I am closer to my mom compared to my dad. Wherever I go for holiday alone, my mom will be there tagging along such as when I went to Penang many many times and recently to Sarawak hence she knows most of my outstation friends. Luckily she's very friendly and sporting hence she enjoys mixing with youngsters and vice versa =P
I skype with her almost every day, even when I'm home here at KL when she's at work hence she said she doesn't really feel like I'm away but I guess seeing me in person gives a different feeling? LOL

Anyway, I hope someone from anywhere can lessen my homesickness....or maybe PPB will do it =P

Post Sarawak trip

I was away at Sarawak for 4 days and boy did I have lots of fun and lots of vitamin D. I think the highlight for my trip is the last day where I was given the opportunity to spent time with St Joseph School Band Colour Guards practicing for a competition at Kuching Food Festival.

The waterfront, view from my hotel room.

My first day was all about discovering the area around the hotel and trying Sarawak food. I am so grateful to have friends there who are willing to take some of their precious time off to bring my mom and I around. Thank you so so much!!!!

2nd day was visiting the Jong Crocodile Farm
and Semengoh Wildlife Centre

and crossing the Sarawak River to see the Fort Margherita and of course trying more food. There was a buka puasa bazaar and I had a great time. On that day, I got to spend time with the locals who are so friendly and so easy to chat with. Reminds me of Abd =)

3rd day was museum day where my mom and I went to 5 different museums.
It was a very tiring day and at night, my 2 good nice great friends from Kuching brought me to the food festival and I had a blast. I was lucky because it stopped raining and hence there were less people around. The feeling of unknown skin touching or brushing against mine is so disgusting, it just kills the inside of me.

My 4th and last day was spent together with these 2 kind nice friends of mine and they gave me the feeling that I thought I've lost. Watching how the band members being so initiative and dedicated in coming to practice and having fun around each other just reminds me of those days where I was like them, loving every minute spent with my band, loving every inch of dark skin thanks to the sun rays and enjoying every drop of sweat rolling down my forehead and back. Those were the glory days of my life, the time where I'll never get back but I'll never forget.
PS: The boys were so cute and pretty!!! Feel like bringing them home with me LOL

*****************************************

Do you believe in platonic friendship?
I would like to believe that it exists and I can be a part of this beautiful friendship.

I know a lot of people does not believe in them. They don't believe that 2 friends of a different gender can be close yet does not have special feelings for each other.

Why not I wonder? True, there might be special feelings or feelings more than normal friends would have but I believe that those who have such wonderful friendship might not risk it. Is it worth sacrificing this close bond for something more that might cause you to lose this beautiful unique bond forever?

Things that have change will never get back to normal again. I am not a true risk taker so even if I'm in that situation, I would keep my lips sealed.

Why the sudden thought? Well, I do realise that I have friends that I keep in touch everyday and most of them are of a different gender just like moments ago, my secondary school friend just called and asked me out for lunch but I was lazy and he ended up delivering the food to my doorstep. Seriously, this is what I call friends but others would assume that there's more to it.

Really? Can't there be kindness or selfless act that does not require anything in return?

Updates

Well, so what have I been up to so far?

- Had McD after more than 1 year hehehe

- My friend suddenly appeared in front of my door step with pasembur (a type of Malaysian Indian rojak). Love these people to bits!!!

- Went to Ipoh spontaneously. It was 11.45pm when the same friend who bought me pasembur asked me if I wanna go Ipoh and 6 hours later, we hit the road with his another friend and guess what, that friend was so coincidentally my Sunday school class mate!! We were in one of the Ipoh Crystal cave when it suddenly dawned onto us as to where we met each other before LOL. Ate lots at Ipoh =)

-  Went to Melaka the next day and boy were we tired but it was a very very productive day because we got to eat most of the things that we planned to eat =P

- Mom booked a complimentary hotel room at The Westin Hotel which cost RM560 per night!! This hotel also gave us a complimentary Tiramisu cake and a bottle of wine (mom chose white wine and she finished the whole bottle!!! I only drank one cup)

- Met up with my office colleague who took care of me when I was working then

-Spent lots of time at Pavilion and KLCC

- Met up with an IMU senior who is currently working at Putrajaya hospital =)

All these interesting activities from 17th- 21st of July 2012.
Such a great achievement (I know) but all thanks to my friends and mom =)

Sadly, I am a few Kgs heavier =/
At Melaka, I saw this T-shirt that I was so tempted to buy but didn't in the end LOL

My 1st home made dessert- Choc Rum Truffles

Yes, yours truly actually made something nice.

I got to bring some 'ang moh' aka western food to my ballet teacher's house for a gathering and I didn't know what to make since I have no oven can't bake, no microwave and my stove has no gas can't cook!

So I was contemplating either to make cheesecake or this recipe that I saw a few weeks back at youtube. Then I realised that I do not have a cake mixer bye cheesecake.

It's a sign. I'm meant to make this easy peasy Choc Rum Truffles.

Got my materials

Crumble the fruitcake

Melt the choc (stove no gas so used rice cooker)

Add rum, choc and sweetener then mixed thoroughly

End product

I present to you- Choc Rum Truffles

Sadly I put too little rum so I melted my Aero mint Choc and gave them a coating =P

The 'guinea pigs' said it was nice....LOL

So my 1st try on western dessert- A success!!!! Proud of myself =)

Day 6- it's 4.15am now and I'm still typing away here...
Jetlag, GO AWAY!!!

Tony Romas again

So today at around 3.30pm, my sis left home alone to the KTM station and took the train for the first time alone to KLCC. Met her there (we were actually on the same Putra LRT lol) and we walked, talked, my legs and back were aching and I was dead tired.

Hung out at Kinokuniya and bought some stuff, went around and went and bought some hair accessories, something that I have been looking high and low for.
Then met mom and we went to Tony Romas and had dinner. Had the almost same dishes, but we had free dessert- carrot cake.
The carrot cake was nice but a little too sweet for me due to the icing on it.
The Chicken Pesto Salad (half)
The other day, we had the full one and it was delicious, somehow this was not as good as the previous one.
My mom ordered the cod fish grilled, blackened with sesame seed crust with rice and broccoli.
My sis and I shared the Mojo Chicken-Seasoned, grilled chicken breasts basted with Tony’s citrus and brown mustard Mojo sauce. Topped with our house-made pineapple salsa and served with rice pilaf and a fresh vegetable. My sis and I had mashed potato and corn instead of the rice and vegetable.

OK, I am so tired. Talk to y'all soon...

PS: why Dato' Lee Chong Wei can win? Because last time he was just plain Lee Chong Wei (LCW) which stands for "let china win". But now he has a Dato' so he became (DLCW) which means "Don't let China win" LOL....lame joke from FB =)

Shopping at 1U again

This is the 2nd time shopping at 1Utama and spending more than RM1000 LOL...
(First time was when I bought my watch)

Last sunday, went and bought
1. My 28" luggage bag (Rofina-Swiss brand) which cost RM220 because it was having a 50% discount at parkson =)

2. A dress and a cardigan which comes up to RM215
3. Under garments which also comes up to RM200
4. 3 British India's linen pants which cost up to RM400

Now now, I know it's so expensive but everything was on sale and in my defense, the pants were having 70% discount each (Original price was RM499)!! I know, it's so shocking for me to enjoy shopping, spending AND getting a dress =P

Anyway, after shopping for a whole afternoon, we went to coffee bean and had tea. I had the coffee bean yogurt again. Pictures taken with my mom's Blackberry =)

The cafe latte was free and the yogurt flavour was Black Forest.

How did the cafe latte taste? Milky.....

Let's look at the yogurt I'm having...

What's so special? The round chocolates are actually coffee bean coated chocolate!!

Look!!!

My sister had the mango peach flavour with almond toppings.

While at British India, met Dr.Shamsuddin, a doc from Hosp Selayang =)

While looking for my mom at Coffee Bean (I went and put the luggage bag in the car first), I heard loud cracks and the next thing I know, the floor tiles cracked up. I guess due to bad calculation and when the weather is too hot, the tiles do not have enough place to expand so they cracked up. LOL

Well, that's all for now. Settled my plane ticket issues and took chest x-ray already. So what's left to do is pack my luggage and settle bank stuff. Phew, feels like there's so much to do!!

March

Dang, it's so fast!!! What have I achieved for the past 9 months since June? Let me see...
1. Work
2. Travel
3. Laze at home
4. Meet up with fellow IMU friends (juniors) and help them here and there

Wow, just 4 that is so not brag-able jeez...

I wanted to post something about something but now rushing so can't post anything. Hey, it rhymes!! LOL

Last night after having steamboat as dinner at Desa Parkcity, we went to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for...

Frozen Yogurt and it was yummy!!!

We had the caramel affogato and banana caramel. I prefer the banana caramel because it was sourish and milkish like real yogurt while the caramel affagato has some coffee in the middle so it was bitter sweet.

After the two regular cups of yogurt, my sis and I went crazy and we started singing loudly along the radio in the car and in the petrol station. Even the petrol attendant was looking and smiling at us =)

Meet Ups

Well, I've not been here for some time so I shall post a little (not in detail) regarding the meet ups I've had with my fellow batch mates.

So on Monday, I met Esther!!! We had great time talking, walking around and doing girl stuff. Honestly this was my first time going to stores and trying on clothes for fun. So now I know who to look for when I want to have girl time LOL!

Tuesday went to uni and met up with fellow juniors/ friends/ orientation group mates (ya, I was the spy so?).

Wednesday I woke up with a fever =(

Thursday, went to I Utama and met up with June, Joshua and Zia. Joshua suggested Kura Japanese Restaurant at One World Hotel but we decided to walk around and decide later and finally we went to The Garden Lifestyle Store & Cafe
The interior design was beautiful and the food was not that bad. We had the set lunch which includes a plate of salad, a bowl of soup and a cup of coffee or ice lemon tea with the main course.
I had Grilled Baramundi
June and Joshua had the Chicken Teriyaki
Zia had the Garden Beef Burger
We met at 10.30am and had lunch at 11.45am and sat there and talked till around 4.30pm!! We finally dispersed around 5pm =)

PS: Too bad Esther and I didn't take any pictures =(

Pasta Zanmai & New Watch

Saturday was Tony Roma's, yesterday (Saturday) was Pasta Zanmai at 1Utama.

I can't remember the name of the food so I'll just post the pictures (I brought camera!) and describe a bit.
Pasta Zamnai is related to Sushi Zanmai but this branch is a fusion of pasta and Japanese so it's like Japan meets Italy =)
cute teapot =)
The chefs being busy in the kitchen
The interior design (I was bored so I started to randomly take pictures)
My spicy chicken pasta. The pasta was spicy but the chicken was sweet and I felt full just finishing this bowl.
My sister's seafood pizza with shrimps and scallops with mayo on it.
The scallop on the pizza.
Some sushi rolls
My mom's set- a bowl of pasta with sesame paste and unagi with egg on rice with miso soup
Can we skip dessert?? NO!!! My sister chose this green tea ice cream with red bean paste and fruits on crepe
I chose the chocobanana
where there were chocolate and vanilla ice cream surrounded by oreo like crumbles, cornflakes and banana slices.

After that, my mom went on with her objectives of the day
1. Get me a handbag
2. Get me a watch
3. Get me a travelling suitcase

To get no.1, we walked into Coach (I was using the phone so I didn't know where were we until I saw the price and logo), Kipling etc. Wow, EXPENSIVE!!

Finally, I persuaded her to move on to no.2 and 3 instead hoping to walk from one corner to the other and not achieve any goal BUT she finally got me no.2 at
and this cost more than RM600!!!! LOL, but it was having discount that's why I agreed to it. My dad might be angry about this though =P

Anyway, later meeting up with Esther at MV.

Oh NO!!!! No more Black Swan!!!!! =(
Maybe I'll go earlier a bit and catch Burlesque....
