Updates

Genting trip was ok la. Went for the night show, DREAMZ which is a magic show. It was fantastic because the show reminded me of why I love
-Magician
(Did I mention that the magician was cute?? Not the old one, the other younger one [Italian magician Loris Togni Alessandro] which did dangerous stunts like cutting himself into half and things like that. And btw, the magic show was WOW!!!)

-Dancers
(Did I mention that there was male dancers? The muscles, the flexibility!!! Totally gorgeous and sexy!!!! I think they are male ballerinas. Gosh I envy them for being able to do multiple pirouettes )

-Band
(Did I mention that there was live band? Sadly they only have violin, flute, sax, percussion and keyboard but hey, it's still a band ^^)

-Ballet
(Half way through the show, there was a ballerina on pointe and it reminded me of ME being on pointe, the feeling is just so unexplainable lol)

-Dog
(Did I mention that there was 2 dogs who did stunts and had special appearance in the magic show, so cute!!! )

-White
(Did I mention that there was white lion and white tiger?? They were beautiful!!!)

I enjoyed myself at Genting and no Steven, I enjoyed myself WITHOUT stepping in the theme park because I know without the right company, no matter where you are it won't be fun...I miss last year's Genting trip with my fellow college mates =(

Came home aka KL on Monday at 12.30pm.
Rushed to Masjid Jamek to take house key from brother,
rushed back to KL Sentral,
rushed back home,
then rushed to Uni.
On the way to Uni I stopped by at Mid Valley and bought Sister's Keepers and the whole Mid Valley trip took me about 20 minutes and I managed to catch the next train.
Went to a Dhamma talk which lasted till 10.45pm at Bukit Jalil Stadium
By the time I reach home, it was 12.30am and I was dead tired...

That's all folks, I am going to read and read and read...LOL

PS: Jon, the book 19 min is with Van =)

aimless yet again....

There I was, finishing the New Moon in 1 day then I felt aimless because I don't know what else to read. I've read all the books available and honestly I want to read more Jodi Picoult's book--Sisters Keepers!!! Van is at Bandung so no Eclipse to read yet. I was tempting myself to restudy my sem 1 and sem2 stuff but lying on my bed starring at the ceiling was more exciting.....

I'll be leaving to Genting (bookless) tomorrow and honestly I don't know what my sister wants to to up there. I AM SO NOT GOING TO THEME PARK, so I guess TV with Astro will be the next best option. She even planned to play Uno the whole night with yours truly!!! =(

I AM SO BORED!!!! SO AIMLESS!!!!

Someone, anyone, help me....borrow me some books to read...life without books is like life without brains or life without love?

Argh!!! I need books....desperately!!!! X_x

hate hate!!!

I never really realise how it can ruin my mood.
Yes, it's faster than hearing my parent's nagging.
I always thought rude and annoying people are at the top of my hate list.

But Now, I Officially Hate/Despise/Dislike/Loathe/Detest/Repel/Resent/Abhor/Abominate

CROWDED NOISY AREA!!!

Seriously, the noise, the people, the atmosphere, the environment...
ARGH!!!!! Destroy my Christmas mood!!!

I nearly did a lot of unforgivable stuff,
like

winding down the window and scold that pathetic stupid dumb aunty "YOU BODOH AH??!!" when she inserted the parking ticket wrongly 3 times and made us waited for some time!!!

Or

when my dad turned to a junction with illegal parking at both sides and got glared by the opposite driver because he thought my dad took an illegal turn, I felt like getting down the car, kick that fellow's car, pull him out from the car and kill him with whatever strength my anger gave me!!!

Or

destroy all the glasses, porcelain vases, plates and cups that were displayed on the shelves

Or

simply slap anyone that blocked my way or looked at me

Or

Snapping at those who talked loudly

Or

pushing those toddle with squeaky shoes and threaten their mother never to get such shoes

Or

Stop already.....phew...chill....

*********************************************************************

My mood did not get any better

Even when I met my bf aka Jayne, but I managed a smile to avoid her asking a lot of questions which she did after I escaped from her

Or

even when Alicia and her bf conference called me and talked nonsense like usual.

To avoid such places, stay at home when it's a public holiday and ban shopping malls. Never bring me to places like this ever again!!!
(Blame my dad for forcing us out from the house to avoid us starring at the Tv)

PS: I guess parents nagging at the side and feeling a little hungry contributed A LOT

My 3 Christmas Presents

I woke up in the morning still lingering in the songs of Phantom Of The Opera. It was in TV1 at 11.30 till 1.30 am yesterday. Mom was making lots of noise, tickling our feet and threatening to open OUR presents if we don't wake up at that instant. I was actually awake, just reading my thriller on my bed and ignoring mother because the detective is catching the killer red handed!!!

The next thing I know, mother started to open MY presents and that made me jumped off my bed and into the opening-present mood. Here they are, 3 of them each from the ballet principal, music principal and Jayne!!! Muaks!!
From the Music Principal
Before
After
(Ear rings??!!! I don't even have any piercing at my ear lobes!!! Hahaha, so much for being so observant...LOL)
From Jayne
Before
(Red Box??)
Hmm..What is it??
After
(Wow, a 3D ballerina trapped in a glass)
[side view]
[front view]
From my Ballet Principal
Before
(was hoping to get a dancing pants that Van and I wanted!!)
After
(Hmm...what's this?)
A pajamas!!! I guess she thinks I need a pajamas to make me get into the sleeping mood since she knows I skip sleep...LOL. Sweet colour though ^^ (yes, weird to get a pajamas for a Christmas present but it's the thought that counts right?)
Thanks everyone for the pressie. Me love!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

I miss those days where kakak and I will take out our small plastic Christmas Tree and decorate it!! I miss Kakak....and I miss Christmas Parties....and I miss most, the feast!! Hahaha =)

My Christmas Gift

See full size image
The ultimate Christmas gift ever is being the ME today.

I am so thankful to everyone that helped me and gave me support along the journey of my life. It's just so awesome to be me today. (I know, perasan right?)

Hey, look here...

I am a 2nd year medic student,
I passed my uni exams with grades that I never dreamed I'll ever achieve in this uni,
I passed my ballet exams,
I have made lots of new friends,
I still managed to keep in touch with my old friends,
I have handful of friends who love me,
I am still trying to be the friend that I want,
I was able to give out as much help as I can to all those who I managed to reach,
I am still going to continue helping (or taken for granted to a certain extend),
I am able to donate blood,
I am able to cope with the problems I faced,
I never knew that I have such perseverance,
I never knew I have this strength in me that pushed myself to this limit,
I am healthy,
I am living and kicking,
I am happy,
I have a dog that I love so much,
I have a family that supports me (arguments are part and parcel of life),
I can breathe easily,
I can speak out my mind,
I can listen,
I am enjoying my life now,
I love where I am now!!!!

I am so grateful and proud to be me =)

(I know....a little vain...hahaha)

Raped and Multilated

I was disgusted with what I read. I know some (most *cough*) of you don't read newspaper, but if you want to know more, this article was in Star Two, 22nd Dec 08, page T6, 7, 8

******************************************************************

"They forced my son to have sex with me, and when he finished they killed him. Then they raped me in front of my husband and then they killed him too. Then they took away my 3 daughters and haven't heard from them since"

"I saw horrific injuries from the rapes. Sometimes the rebels shove corn or gun barrels into the women's vaginas after they've raped them. I saw women who permanently sat on basins because since they have been raped, they hadn't stopped bleeding. I also saw women who had their breast cut off."

Star Two copied the article from this website.

Inside the villages where every woman is victim of hidden war

Chris McGreal explains how rape became a 'weapon of war' in Congo

They came out of the forest. Men with guns appearing barely human to the frail, ageing woman who months later recounted her ordeal, bent double after surgery to save her womb.

"They didn't look like men. Their skin was covered in cuts. Their clothes were completely torn. They became someone else, not humans," she said at a hospital in the often fought-over town of Rutshuru in eastern Congo.

But the woman still recognised the men who descended on her village as members of the Mai Mai ethnic militia. Their preference for wearing animal skins and amulets, popular for their supposed magical powers of protection, distinguished them from the government soldiers, foreign rebels and other armed gangs who have also contributed to the wholesale rape of hundreds of thousands of women and girls over more than a decade of conflict.

It took months for the 58-year-old woman from Kindu to reach Rutshuru hospital for treatment and to tell her story. The Mai Mai shot her husband when he didn't have any money to hand over. When her children screamed they shot them too. Then the woman was raped by five men. One of her attackers nearly destroyed her womb by thrusting his gun into it. She fled her village. As she travelled to Rutshuru she was raped again, this time by Rwandan Hutu extremists who fled to Congo after leading the genocide in their own country.

"It is impossible to live in safety. They have murdered my children, they have murdered my husband. They have raped me so many times. I do not know who is alive and who is dead in my village," she said.

Hers is not an unusual account from survivors of villages in eastern Congo subjected to repeated attacks in which women and girls were serially raped and the men killed. Health clinics in the region treat tens of thousands of women for sexual assault every year, and doctors say that is a fraction of those who were attacked. Last year, Médecins Sans Frontières estimated that 75% of all the rape cases it dealt with worldwide were in eastern Congo. Many young women have been abducted into sexual slavery. In some villages, armed groups kill the men and rape all the women. Many are left HIV positive and pregnant. In some larger towns, such as Shabunda, Congolese human rights groups estimate seven out of 10 women have been raped.

Mutilation

Doctors say the onslaught against women is notable not only for its scale but for its brutality. Gang rapes are commonplace and frequently accompanied by torture in which women are mutilated by having guns or stakes thrust into their vaginas, or their genitals slashed with knives. One in four who make it to hospitals in Goma and Rutshuru require major surgery. More than a third are teenagers.

Human rights groups say that while rape is a product of many conflicts, its systematic nature in Congo makes it a "weapon of war" used to terrorise and punish communities or as a tool of ethnic cleansing.

Immaculee Birhaheka, the head of Paif, a women's rights group in Goma, said almost no woman outside of a few major towns is safe. She describes what happened in a string of villages along the rudimentary road south from Goma toward Bukavu, 75 miles away. "The women who come from there tell us that every woman in every village has been raped over the years. There is not one who was not attacked, they told us. Some of them were captured and taken into the forest for months, even two years. When they are released some are in such bad condition that they die.

"The women don't talk about it as a weapon of war but they say they are seriously targeted, that it is very organised. It's clear from the behaviour of the soldiers that they have permission to attack women. Their commanders do not stop it and may even order it."

One of those commanders is Colonel Edmond Ngarambe who serves in the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR), an armed group of Hutu exiles born out of the Interahamwe militia that led the genocide in Rwanda. The FDLR controls about 40% of the territory in the two Congolese provinces worst hit by conflict, North and South Kivu.

Last year, in a village south of Bukavu, he admitted his men were responsible for systematic sexual assaults on women. "This thing of rape, I can't deny that happens. We are human beings. But it's not just us. The Mai Mai, the government soldiers who are not paid, the Rastas do the same thing. And some people sent by our enemies do it to cause anger against us," he said.

That many other groups - from the Mai Mai to Tutsi rebels and the Rastas, a group of defectors from the likes of the FDLR - are also responsible for mass rape is not in doubt. But around Bukavu the victims tend to point the fingers at Ngarambe's men.

It may be no coincidence that rape was an integral part of the mass killings in Rwanda 14 years ago. The international tribunal trying those responsible for organising the genocide made a landmark ruling that for the first time defined rape as an act of genocide under international law if it is part of a systematic move to wipe out an ethnic group.

But others too are responsible. Forces under the command of the rebel Congolese Tutsi general, Laurent Nkunda, who recently seized swaths of territory in North Kivu, have a long history of assaults on women. Three years ago they attacked Bukavu. A Human Rights Watch report said Nkunda's forces "went house to house raping and looting". Among the victims were teenagers and three girls of three years old.

Retribution

MSF says that "while rape is etched into the general framework of violence", it's also seen as legitimate "additional retribution" by the armed groups against civilians who fail to hand over food or are perceived as supporting their enemies.

Many women have to make the appalling choice between risking rape by venturing out of their villages to tend their crops in order to feed their children, and seeking a modicum of protection in numbers but risking starvation. Among them is a 23-year-old woman from Walikali. She is small, thin-faced and her eyes dart about constantly.

"There were four of us. I was looking for food. There were seven Interahamwe and they took us. Two of us tried to run away. They shot at them. One was shot through the chest and died. The other got a bullet in the leg. They raped her," she said. "I fainted because there were seven of them and it was too hard for me. When they left it was raining. Our families came looking. We were all bleeding. We were almost dead."

***************************************************************

In Congo, the systematic sexual assaults on women in entire villages has made rape a 'weapon of war'. All this has been going on for almost 50 years since the Rwandan Genocide.

It's just so sad because there are no humanitarian aid reaching these people yet!! A spokesperson for UNHCR said " There are frequent reports of sexual abuse of women and girls by both FDLR ( Democratic Front for Liberation of Rwandan)and Congolese army. Areas are far flung and inaccessible due to the continued presence of FDLR in the forest. Agencies will not go to areas where their safety cannot be guaranteed."

But don't these people still need help? Can all these violence just STOP!!!! Enough is enough!! Can't they see that they are hurting their own people?? Pro government or anti government, you are just killing and RAPING your own people!!!!!

Ban Sri Petaling's Kam Lun Tai!!!!!

Went to my cousin sister's wedding dinner at Sri Petaling's Kam Lun Tai.

PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE FOR THE FOOD!!!!!

The food there SUCKS!!!!! Seriously, worst food ever!!!! I rather stay hungry than consume anything served after tasting each dish. Notice, tasted not ate!!!

4 season was ok,
shark fin was like eating flour,
piglet and duck was SO FAT (not that I eat it, my god, eating piglet is so cruel!!!),
fish was so pathetic,
prawns was the only edible food,
vegetable was normal but insufficient for all of us,
fried rice was the only food that can fill the stomach yet it was insufficient (again!!)
and lastly dessert which took them 35 minutes to serve!!!!!!!

Seriously, if you want to treat someone dinner yet you don't like that person, bring them to this place, Sri Petaling's Kam Lun Tai!!!

SERVICE SUCKS TOO!!!!!! Let's begin with the front part where they take the first dish out. Usually there will be a small formation/ performance where they walk out elegantly in darkness with only light coming from the dish that has a candle or something in the middle of the dish and stand on the stage with the spotlight on them, then only strut to their respective table serving the food. This Kam Lun Tai, my gawd, music was like on for about 3 minutes? only the waiters started to walk out and there was no spotlight, nothing. The next thing we know, lights were on and food was on the table. Help yourself was written all over the waiter's face.

Next, they have this rule where they change the plate after EVERY dish and it's so annoying!!! You haven't finish yet they are walking all around you collecting plates and all and then stand beside you waiting to finish. AND the waiters are all about my age or younger so they have sucky serving skills. The waiter for my table spilled almost a bowl of shark fin on the table and they way he pour the shark fin soup into the bowl is like "Nah, eat this and hope you'll choke" attitude. STUPID!!!!!

Then, they always fill up your cup of tea. Understandable but NOT when you are taking the food and they just pour your neightbour's cup of tea over your hand. Can't they be patient? Wait for a few seconds before you do your job cannot ah? Let your rest cannot ah? BUT NOOooo, must do it no matter what (even if the hot tea spilled and burn your hand when you take the food). So Professional....my foot!!! It's a miracle my mother kept her mouth shut.

Never mind, they are just kids, forgive their stupidity. It's tolerable until the chef from the kitchen wearing T-Shirt with holes serving the front table because most of the waiters decided to play MIA. Even that chef was a little angry. Did I talk about the plate-changing rule? Apparently it changes towards the end. The new rule was, change the plates that you can reach, those at the far end, let them call another waiter or let them wait. How efficient they were and the waiter still has the guts to stick out his damned tongue acting sorry and cute at the same time. If he was a gal, I'll be even more pissed but well, I'll close BOTH OF MY EYES!!!

I haven't touch the MC for this wedding. He was a boy, A BOY!!!! I'll give him a benefit of doubt, I think he might be about my age too. So he was practically reading from a paper what to say and stuff and he can't make the environment lively. Usually when the bride and bridegroom goes up to the stage, the MC will ask us to clap or say something to catch everyone's attention but when the 2 "Raja Sehari" went to the stage, it was so quiet!!!! I clapped but none followed so I stopped. This wedding dinner is just SOOOOOO badly organised!!! Sad....

SERIOUSLY, NEVER STEP FOOD AT THIS PLACE --SRIPETALING'S KAM LUN TAI!!!!!!

ps: Did I mention that the dessert took them 35 minutes??!!!!

8 hours out

Morning at 9.30am, I left house to my ballet school to teach tuition.

By 11.45am, my ballet teacher came and picked me up to 1 Utama.

Met up with my ballet friends and off we went and watch Beverly Hills Chihuahua which was just OK. Through out the movie, it was just ok, nothing exciting and a lot of expected stuff. If I were to rate it, I'll give it a 4/10.

After movies, we went to Carl's Junior for lunch and talked and laughed and laughed and laughed...Met my student while looking around. So weird because this morning I just taught her and then at 1 U meet her again.Walk around and by 4 something teacher left because she has a class to teach.

So off Van, Froggie and I went and bought a Christmas pressie for my ballet principal. She always has a special Christmas gift for me and last year's gift was quiet expensive!! So this year, let me give her something back. I wonder what I will get this year...hmm....

After getting the gift, could not resist not having ice cream so off we went to McD. I know, I could have Baskin Robbins or New Zealand ice cream but I said I'll treat the 2 gals and I'm quite bankrupt!!! (Kinda angry that I have been paying for my and my sister's ballet fees for a few months already).

Don't know why when I am with Van, I'll laugh a lot with her and I am quite surprised that I can still mix well with a 14 years old gal. I am not that OLD ok!!! Hahahaha...ya, met Joanne b4 watching movie ^^

Really enjoyed myself today!!!

***********************************************************************

I need your opinion urgently. I haven't been to tuition myself so I don't know the market price.
How much should I charge my tuition student?
Form 4 Add Maths, 1 to 1 , twice per week, each lesson 1.5 hours....So how much should I charge?? How much??!!!!
HELP!!!!!
