Mock OSCE

Yesterday, I had my mock OSCE. I forgot what OSCE stands for but the exam is going to be me examining or talking to patients. Anyway, yesterday's mock was on history taking where I'll ask the sp questions and get as much info as possible within 5 minutes then go to the next room to fill up the question paper.

Since it was just a mock, we were paired up and there was only 4 histories to take. The 1st to go was Jing, my partner and we were supposed to ask the history of presenting illness and family history but Jing spent the whole 5 minutes on the 1st part and missed family history hence when we answered the questions at the next room, we could not answer any family related questions =P

Next was my turn and I were to ask personal details, history of presenting complain, systemic review and past medical history. 4 components to ask!!!! So I know time is VERY VERY precious hence I asked asap and the feedback from the sp was I was ok but forgot to ask about her menses =P

The 3rd station for us was the best because we got nancy, a sp that is VERY VERY good in her acting. I am serious. The 1st sp I got in sem 1 was her and that time she was acting that she has fever and flu and she really REALLY do look like she has fever and flu..all the nose blowing and sniffing. Anyway, her character was a 16 year old gal that has anemia and misses her dad who has been away for 3 months. It was Jing's turn and Nancy was her 1st time so she was distracted or wow-ed by her acting skills that she paused quite a lot of times LOL

The last station was a 40 something year old Chinese guy who has the role of a 15 years old school boy who hurt his knee and the knee is swollen. I tried to put myself in his shoes and talk to him like I talk to my 15 year old juniors and the feedback I got was--GOOD!!! Hahaha...

Now, the next OSCE exam would be on physical examination which I'll suck so badly....haih..

Yesterday was really a very very BUSY day..no time to study =(

Unfair!!!

On Wednesday, I was busy printing my notes when I got a message from Yik Jing saying I am the leader for the elective group.

When August comes, we need to complete our elective aka hospital attachment for 3 weeks and apparently last time, this elective was not compulsory to be medically related as in I can take up sign language class, go sky diving and stuff as my electives IF I were 3 semesters ahead of where I am now. The new rule is the elective must be based in a hospital.

Anyway, I don't know where to go and which department to hang out so I've decided to go to Hospital KL and since I always have stomach problem, I'm going to the gastroenterology department. When Yik Jing sent me that message, I quickly checked the i-drive and Dang!! I am the leader for the students going to HKL. Each hospital that has IMU students will have a leader to write the appropriate letter and settle everything for the others that are of the same hospital.

So, since I am the group leader, I got to write letters and call HKL and follow up and every single detail on my own. I don't mind actually but why UNFAIR?? Because all the other hospital only has about 4-5 students or 10 BUT HKL has.....(drum roll) 33 students!!!!!!!

I got to write letter for each of them that are of the different department and call up and do all the receptionist work...FOR 33 PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS: KTM seriously is getting way pass my nerves...it's so argh!!!!!

KTM + Uni

Yesterday I had a real bad day. Ballet teacher postponed ballet class to half an hour later but she reached ballet school half an hour late so I wasted my 1 hour at ballet school. Rushed to KTM and the blaaardy KTM announced that the train will be late for more than half an hour!!! I was gonna be late for class so I called my mother to fetch me to the LRT station at PWTC. The moment I stepped out from the station to the car park, the blaaaaardy train arrived and passed by. I was so pissed!!!

While walking down the stairs towards my mother's car, I think I sprained my ankle. Rushed to the LRT station and was still late for class thanks to the traffic jam. Was in a bad mood in class and after class, I had bad migraine again.

I decided to go home earlier and guess what a junior told me...someone got robbed at 6.45pm near the car park. Got scared but still went home and slept.

Came to uni this morning and went for blood bank visit. It was fun and I did learned stuff and surprisingly I was interested enough to ask questions. Next, went to the First Aid Club welcoming party and was told by the admin that a second robbery took place this morning.

hence, within 24 hours, 2 robberies took place. Last night was at the car park, 2 sem 4 gals went to the car park and met 2 Indian robbers and hence lost their laptops, happened at 6.45 to 7pm. This morning at 6.30am, a sem 5 pharmacy student came early to beat the jam because she's having her major exam aka EOS5, parked her car outside Vista C and her car got hijacked by 4 Malay guys. She don't know how but the 4 guys just entered her car (she was sure her car doors were locked) and make her get down from her car. Apparently one of the case involved guns.

Ya I know, it's now obviously dangerous for me to go home aka walk to LRT station at night alone and you'll expect me to go home earlier...BUT....well....erm....

******************************************************************************

I don't know if I'm lucky or unlucky to not meet some type of people that exist in this world. The type of people I mean are those that (a) back stab friends and (b) those that are evil. The evil one..let me tell you the story....

EOS 2 was around the corner and J panic because she has not been studying consistently hence she asked a senior to help her. The senior decided to pass her questions he made so that she'll learn up all the important things. The senior went to J's apartment to pass her the questions but she was not around so he passed it to her housemate, L. L kept and and did not pass the questions to J until when the senior asked J how's her progression which was weeks after that. When confronted L, L keep denying she has it but after about 5 minutes she went "Oooo..ya, I forgot to pass it to you." These people are evil!!!!!!!! (J failed BTW)

Another type of people I found in this uni are (c) those that make you feel stupid. You have been feeling dumb enough for not been able to remember stuff so when you ask this type of people, they'll go"Hoiyoh, why you don't know?? It's ......and.....so.....LAR!!! How come you don't know one??!!" (with that you-are-stupid tone). When you admit you forget, they'll laugh at you.

There's this one type that I still can stand which are (d) those that copy notes from you, ask you questions and get information from you but NEVER SHARE. This type I've known a few and have been avoiding them so I'll just continue to avoid.

I don't know how long I can survive in this "society" but hopefully (crossing my fingers and praying hard) that I wont meet such people in the future.

Will I pass EOS 3 or should I say, can I survive medical school?

Stoooopid KTM

Ya, it's KTM again...AGAIN!!!!!!!

ARGH!!! It's so annoying and it's going to make me have high pressure soon. This is the second time within 2 months. The first time was late last month when the train suddenly stopped at KL Sentral and announced that there will not be any train to Rawang line due to some technical problem. It was 10.15pm mind you!!!

Can you imagine if I were to take the taxi and got raped or robbed or both? Who should I blame? Me or the KTM? If I were to sue KTM, will I get back the things I've lost?? They still have the face to announce and ask us to find alternative transport back while for those going to Rawang, they got to find their own way to Sg. Buloh station where the train is functioning there. =.="'

They started implementing the 20 minutes per train system since early this year and it's still not that punctual especially in peak hours. Last night (not a peak hour period), I reached the KTM station at 9.15 pm and usually take the 9.17 pm train but I waited there until 9.45pm!!!! Looking the Seremban train pass twice is so depressing and I was really really tired that I keep dozing away while sitting up. If I were unlucky and got robbed while I was "unconscious", who should I blame? Argh!!!!

Gosh, they say they'll improve, they ALWAYS say that. Yes, no doubt when the "improvement" was implemented at the beginning, it was showing progression BUT as time pass, the "improvement" becomes a past...haih...when will Malaysia ever really develop??

PS: Whee...I got the Treasurer post. I actually applied and went for the interview for the post I always get (heheh) and was always trying to escape from getting this money-handling post because I suck in handling money and doing accounts but oh well, lets make this a challenge for me =)

Charity Home Visit + City of Ember

Went for the charity home visit with Deep 6 and was caught in the jam. So instead of spending time with the children, I spent my time with 3 very "matured" guys, listening to them talking about crap and perverted stuff. When I got off the car, I was not the same Jene that went in anymore!! LOL

Anyway, I miss Gal Gal and Mei Mei!! Mei Mei has Down Syndrome but she still remembers me and wanted me to carry her around so she was on my arms for like almost half and hour. The moment she got off me, my arms were shaking and numb. Anyway, I enjoyed myself there. OH YA, Benedict came and joined us and he was so cool. He became the center of attention because he brought along the practicing drum set and did some really good performance. Do you know that the kids there have the chance to attend Yoga classes??!!! I want to attend too!!! (plan to register myself at that home since I am partially retarded =P)

After doing something good, I awarded myself by watching "City of Ember". I was actually tired but my eyes were glued to the cinema screen because it was really that good and exciting!! I'll give an 8 our of 10 because it is really exciting and really good. Want to know more about it, go wiki or IMDB. Go watch, highly recommended!!

This movie sort of has a moral. I think we'll end up like them soon, getting trapped underground because the earth is so polluted. So in order to save the earth, human were sent to live underground but the city was built to survive for only 200 years so when time is up..... (go watch!!)

PS: got a call on Friday informing me that I am now in the committee board but I don't know what post I got. Hope it'll be something manageable because my studies suck LOL.
